The documentary explores the phenomenon of the devotion of the Neapolitans "femminielli" (effeminate homosexual)  to Our Lady "Schiavona", a  byzantine icon kept in the sanctuary of Montevergine. The video documents the anthropological and psychosocial aspects that revolve around the sacredness of the ritual that takes place every year on February 2nd in Montevergine, in the mountains of Partenio, ( Avellino), on the feast of Candlemas.
This video introduces the cycle of meetings: "Trans-mutations. Transsexualism and its past declinations  as seen through the eyes of the documentary film ".
